Immersion Blender Mayo

🥘 Ingredients

  • canola oil
    1 c
  • dijon mustard
    1 tsp
  • egg
    1
  • garlic (minced)
    1 medium clove
  • kosher salt
  • lemon juice
    1 tbsp
  • vegetable oil
    1 c

🍳 Cookware

  • jar
  • immersion blender
  • refrigerator

    Place egg , lemon juice (from 1/2 a lemon), and dijon mustard in the bottom of jar that just fits the head of your immersion blender .
    egg: 1, lemon juice: 1 tbsp, dijon mustard: 1 tsp

    The circumference of the jar must be just larger than the head of your blender.

    The egg/lemon juice mixture must reach the blades for this to work.

    If the mixture does not reach the blades, double the recipe before attempting.

    Add garlic (minced) .

    Pour vegetable oil or canola oil on top.
    vegetable oil: 1 c, canola oil: 1 c

    Allow to settle for ⏱️ 15 seconds .

    Place head of immersion blender at bottom of jar.

    Turn it on high speed.

    Do not pulse or move the head.

    As mayonnaise forms, slowly tilt and lift the head of the immersion blender until all oil is emulsified.

    Season mayonnaise to taste with kosher salt .

    Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to ⏱️ 2 weeks .
